Rewind the clock to 2008 and an obscure duo who were understood to be Chameleone’s prodigies warmed their way into our hearts with an array of hits. They were a breath of fresh air with a unique sound and in just a year, there was a frenzy about the star duo. Radio Dj’s were almost crucified everyday to play their music and with the fame came the fortune, scrutinized private lives but most importantly we saw the birth of one of Uganda’s finest talents, RADIO AND WEASEL.

Not a single artiste had dominated the music circuit like the two.If it wasn’t Nakudata making people scream in one nightspot, it was the song Zuena making a certain Bebe Cool scream in anguish and a feud was  born amongst the three.Everyone noticed and unfortunately Bebe Cool had to notice the hard way.He huffed and puffed and for once Bebe Cool felt threatened.

Awards were the norm and in around 2010, they were the undisputed stars of Ugandan music and they were mentioned in the same breath as more accomplished artistes like Dr Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine. They were no longer pretenders but could now eat on the table of men and could boast of hits like Bread and Butter, Kuku amongst  others.

Then everything took a turn for the worst. The media castigated them, they were involved in court battles and controversy and scandal had taken pitch in the Goodlyfe camp. The duo’s career was on a downward spiral especially in 2011 and the biggest part of 2012 with nothing of a major hit to boast of and the Radio and Weasel duo was written off by many.

This year 2013 however has seen them revamp their career. They have steered clear of scandal focusing on the prize. With international awards beckoning, they were set for the stars releasing top quality songs videos and then the international community took notice. The BET community gave them a nod for Best International Act and although they didn’t win, it was a reminder that you can never let a good man down.

This year has seen them tickle us with Magnetic, fall in love with Fitting and relegate us to the dancefloor with their hits like Amaaso and Ekyama. Personally, they are my undisputed stars of 2013.
