Phew! Qwela band is not breaking up after all. The band has finally addressed the disbandment rumours categorically stating that it is only their Friday performances that have been halted but otherwise the band is still intact. The band’s other performances will still go on as always and they are a promising to unveil a new exciting programme soon.

To put the record straight, the band posted on their facebook timeline saying: “Dear fans, just to clarify the story going around, its only our Friday band performances that we have stopped . But the music continues so watch this space for new exciting proggie.. Love you all.”

This comes in the wake of a bad rumour that has been circulating around claiming that the band was no more. Apparently the rumour was sparked off by a misconstrued post on the band’s timeline on 16th May that read: “Meanwhile dear fans. We wont be able to bring you our Friday band performances until further notice.”

Qwela band is popular for it’s unique fusion of African music with a Western musical approach creating authentic Ugandan music.
