Quick Taxi, a new online cab service, has officially launched in Uganda.
Registered in Uganda in October last year, Quick Taxi was officially launched on Wednesday evening at the Kampala Serena Hotel gardens by Minister of State for Transport Hon. Bagiire Aggrey at a ceremony graced by several dignitaries and stake holders in the transport industry.

Speaking at the launch, the honorable minister lauded the Quick Taxi team for understanding the industry demands and working towards satisfying them.
“The taxi service providers have taken their time to understand the industry demands and work towards satisfying them and that is why today we are seeing Quick Taxi coming with this arrangement where one can access their services at their own convenience whether day or night,” he said.
He further noted that the government is committed to supporting such investment in the transport industry, and encouraged the indigenous Ugandan taxi owners to also get organized so as to be able to compete favorably.
“We are committed to partnering with all investors, both local and foreign, that are interested in offering transport services in a very organized manner,” he said. “These forms of organized transport are not coming to displace and disorganize the former arrangement we had. It is only a call to indigenous Ugandan taxis who are able to provide such services to make sure they also get organized so that they can compete favourably.”
He concluded cautioning the Quick Taxi management to make sure that all their drivers are accredited by the police to ensure they are competent enough to guarantee safety of passengers.
According to Andrew Agaba, the Head of Marketing at Quick Taxi, they boast of 200 taxis and have developed a mobile app through which they seek to offer transport solutions to meet the different demands of their clients. “We aspire to be more than just a cab company. We intend to be a total transport solutions company provider with affordable rides for any event be it corporate rides, luxurious rides or 4×4 cars among others,” he said.
