Queens Park Rangers have launched a consultation process over plans to build a 40,000 seater stadium in Old Oak, west London. The Premier League club will send out 50,000 newsletters to residents and businesses as part of proposals to redevelop brownfield land.
Loftus Road in Shepherd’s Bush has been QPR’s home ground for the vast majority of their history, but the growing demand for a larger attendance has forced owners to search for an alternative venue.
According to the QPR Rs chairman Tony Fernandes, as he stated on the club’s official website read: “We are looking to deliver much more than just a stadium. We want to create a new destination that we propose to call ‘New Queens Park’. It will serve as a catalyst for regeneration, creating thousands of new jobs and homes for local people. It will be a major transport hub that will connect Old Oak to the rest of London and other major cities across the UK.”
