Prime Derick is an afrobeat artist based out of Kampala, Uganda.

He is originally from Jinja in the Eastern Region. While Derick has been perfecting his craft since childhood, 2021 has been a breakout year with the singles “If You Want Some” and “Sikusaana.”

The video for “If You Want Some” was filmed in Kenya, featuring Instagram star Wayua Wayua alongside Derick onscreen.

Listing local legends Madoxx Sematimba and Bobi Wine as influences, as well as international acts such as Craig David, Drake and Sean Paul, Derick has now teamed up with top producer Ronie On This One for his new single “Tumila.”

Later this year Derick will be appearing at the Xtreem awards, where he has been nominated for Best Ugandan Artist.
