Popular radio personality Prim Asiimwe has voiced strong criticism of the current state of church leadership, accusing many pastors of abandoning their spiritual calling in favor of personal financial gain.

Speaking candidly, Asiimwe expressed concern that many churches in Uganda have transformed into personal businesses rather than places of worship.
According to her, a growing number of pastors are more interested in accumulating wealth than preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Churches are personal businesses,” she said. “They are no longer focused on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are focused on making money and have turned them into family businesses.”
Asiimwe went on to decry the trend of pastors grooming only their own children—particularly sons and daughters—to take over church leadership, instead of mentoring a broader base of believers.
She cited a recent example where a pastor passed on leadership responsibilities to his own son.
“He can’t mentor others, only his son,” she stated, emphasizing that this practice undermines the mission of the church and contradicts the example set by Jesus Christ, who welcomed and empowered diverse followers.
