Pride Microfinance joins Airtel Money Platform

Airtel Uganda, the fastest growing telecommunications’ company in Uganda, launched its digitalized mobile phone banking solution with yet another partner, Pride Microfinance Limited.

This new service will enable Airtel Money customers to deposit money from their Airtel money accounts to their bank accounts and withdraw money from their bank accounts to their Airtel money accounts.

Airtel Uganda has been at the forefront in regards to partnering with companies and fostering innovations that are aimed at improving the lives of their customers. With innovations such as; sending and receiving money across networks, bill payments with Airtel money, Airtime topping up using Airtel Money, Airtel has always had the interests of their customers at heart and has tried to cater to all of them despite their different locations and economic activities.

Commenting on this phone banking solution, Airtel Managing Director, Mr. Tom Gutjahr said Airtel Uganda was proud to partner with Pride Microfinance one of the most trusted financial institutions in the country, in the creation of a service that will bring much needed relief to business owners and organizations in Uganda.

“Each development on our Airtel Money platform is ultimately designed to ease the lives of our customers and all Ugandans. We look forward to forging more of these partnerships and ultimately making Airtel Money the number one partner of choice in mobile banking,” Gutjahr added.

To do transactions with this new service, a customer should;

1. Registered their SIM card

2. Activate their Airtel Money account by dialing *185#

3. Authorize their banker to link their bank account to their Airtel money by signing up authorization forms at the nearest Pride Microfinance branch.

To deposit, the customer users Airtel Money’s USSD code *185#, select Financial services, select Bank, select Transfer Money to Bank Account, Enter Account Number, Enter Amount and confirm with a PIN.

To withdraw, refer to Pride Mobile which is on USSD code *250# or a smart phone application “Pride App”, that is downloadable.
