Ugandan female singer Pretty Glo has narrated her popular drug addiction journey.
Pretty Glo whose name has in the past few years has been embattled in the news over misuse of drugs has shared a strong regret on how the habit costed her personal life especially as a mother.
Appearing on a local TV channel on Wednesday, Pretty Glo revealed how drug addiction frustrated her life and role as a mother.
Pretty Glo said that her baby got some birth complications that still affect her respiratory system up to date.
Unfortunately, she didn’t spare any time to care, show love and caress her child as a mum because she was always attending to drugs and later rehabilitation admissions.
“It hurts me that the time I would have spent as a mother, loving and treasuring my baby, I instead spent it running into addiction and rehabs,” Pretty Glo said.
However, she is hopeful that she will one day bounce back to a good health and happy life.
“I pray that God gives me courage and ability to raise my child and see him happy in future. Am also able to return to a normal and happy life that I used to have,” she adds.
She also regrets taking drugs that ruined her health and dignity as a responsible, hardworking and focused lady.
“I used to be a responsible woman. I wasn’t begging I wasn’t a criminal. It’s the drug addiction that got me to this point.”
It should be recalled in 2019, Pretty Glo was arrested for stealing a mobile phone in areas of Ntinda, a suburb of Kampala.
Upon her arrest, she claimed to have needed money for her baby’s food and medication.
Her condition was worrying and later confirmed to have been under drug addiction for quite some time.
Pretty Glo’s child is reported to biologically fathered by faded singer, Qute Kaye, who, interestingly, was also arrested in the same year for stealing car side mirrors in Nateete.
Qute Kaye also confessed drug addiction, sparking a serious campaign amongst fellow musicians as they solicited funds to help the couple.
At the moment, Qute Kaye successful beat drug addiction and now back in good shape while Glo’s recovery journey is also impressing.
Pretty Glo born by real names, ngabire Gloria started her career in 2008 with a girl dance and singing group WAFAGIO. She participated for Tusker Project Fame in 2009 before she later left the group to pursue a solo career in 2010. She got on the charts in October 2010 with a song titled ‘Missed Call’ which featured Fidempa from Kenya.
She was signed under Philpac Entertainment under Julian promoter and managed by Calvin Da Entertainer. The song was produced by producer Kayz and video was shot by Reel 16 Jovan.

Her latest single ‘Privately’ has become a hit in Kigali as well as in Kampala.
