Ugandan musician Ruth Walden a.k.a Faridah Walden of the “Pressure Ya Love” fame has recounted her change of career from music to Midwifery.
Faridah Walden who is now a professional midwife working in the United Kingdom (UK) validated her change of career to need to venture into something different.
“Music is a passion for me. I wanted to find another and found it in midwifery,” Faridah Walden said while appearing on NTV Uganda’s ‘Mwasuze Mutya show on Friday.
She also confessed to have found joy in being a midwife instead of music.
Faridah Walden also said that she needed to make the world a better place, thus joining midwifery.
However because of her undoubted talent, Walden laments that she would only sing after a special payment though not professionally.
“I still sing but not as a profession. I sing because I have a talent and if someone is paying for it, there is no problem. But now, I am a full-time midwife,” she added.
Faridah’s “Pressure Ya Love” featuring male singer Chosen Blood is recalled among the top love ballads that rocked Uganda in the early 2010s.
She quit the music career just after a few years after her limelight peak, relocated to London where she perused studies in Midwifery and graduated at Middlesex University.
