Authorities in Tanzania have banned ‘Zari All White Party’.
It is alleged the Ugandan socialite, Zari Hassan, breached some of the laid down terms.
According to Tanzania’s National Art Council, Zari went on to advertise the gig way before it had been approved. This is what has landed her in trouble. She has not only been banned, but also fined approximately Shs 800,000.
The government can only allow her to host the event after she meets all the conditions. This will be a blow to Zari and her team, considering that the Tanzanian version of the ‘Zari All White Party’ has turned out to be a big hit.
Before Dr John Pombe Magufuli came to power, Zari and her Tanzanian boyfriend, Diamond Platnumz, enjoyed many benefits and immunity from the State since Platnumz was a personal friend to President Kikwete.
Efforts to reach Zari to comment were futile as our calls and messages went unanswered.
