The inaugural edition of the national Pork Expo is upon us.
Slated for this weekend, the 2-day event promises to be fun and a learning experience, as well. According to the organisers of the event, revelers will indulge their taste buds in a carefully selected rich pork menu as they enjoy music mixes by top deejays.
Speaking at a press conference held at Namboole stadium on Wednesday, Mark Kaheru, a member of the Kampala Food Network, revealed that 10, 000kg of pork have been earmarked for the event.
“We have a target of cooking 10, 000kg in 2 days,” he said. “We are working with 6 chefs, who each has their own dedicated team, with whom we have developed a menu comprising of 16 different items.”
“The pork will be prepared live at the event and individuals will eat till they drop,” he added.
There will also be an exhibition and training session which is aimed at empowering pig farmers with modern skills and knowledge on the latest technology in piggery farming a bid to help build their capacity.
The event will be held at Namboole stadium on 24th and 25th July. Entrance is 30K and 100K(VIP).
