Season two of the miss curvy uganda initiative returned this Saturday as contestants showcased their bodies while they competed in different categories like Question and Answer and culture session at Club Ambience Bukesa.
This is an initiative that is organized to showcase beauty of an African woman through size. It was introduced to Uganda’s social scene in 2019 by its proprietor Ann Mungoma and patron Godfrey Kiwanda, state minister for Tourism then.
The event was hosted by theme-perfect, Tv personality who also doubles as the initiative spokesperson, Agatha Loswash
Unlike the previous edition, where many of the contestants could hardly pronounce an English word, this time those that took part were seemingly taken through some good articulation training.
The turn up was relatively low, though Mungoma explained this with the heavy downpour that stormed the evening, delaying attendees.
Ten able bodied women took part of the contest and when asked how they came up with this number, Ann said that they considered mostly body size and ability to represent the brand.
As the event wound up, Nassuuna Shirat who contested as number six emerged as the winner and was declared as MISS CURVY UGANDA 2022. Nalukowe Daisy, contenstant one took the 1st runner up spot while Dorah Nakanwagi was the 2nd runner up.
Shirat will now represent Uganda at the Miss Curvy Africa finale later this year on 25th November where 32 countries will be competing for top glory.
Belinda Nansai won the first edition of the pageant and was awarded with a car though there was a lot of controversy involved.
This edition’s winner,Shirat will be awarded with a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
