The family of the late Ivan Ssemwanga wants him to rest in peace, and have taken extra measures to ensure so.

We have learnt that the family has hired armed security personnel to guard Ivan Ssemwanga’s grave.

According to media reports, three policemen have been deployed at the graveyard and will keep watch for close to 3 months in a bid to preserve the late city socialite’s sanctitude. This follows rumours that some individuals were planning to dig up the grave after Ssemwanga was buried with lots of money.

Ssemwanga’s former Rich Gang colleagues threw money in his grave as they bid him farewell in his final send off on Tuesday at his ancestral home in Kayunga.

Meanwhile, a city lawyer has petitioned high court seeking a court order to open up the grave and remove the money that was buried with him. He argues that money is legal tender and therefore is not supposed to end with one use.
