Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Patrick Onyango has confirmed that police have picked interest in the allegations raised against singer Chosen Becky’s new fiancée, Ssekajja Abdul Qadir.
According to Onyango, Qadir’s baby mama, identified as Rashida, accuses him of child neglect and defilement.
Police say they are closely following up on the matter to establish the truth behind the claims.
The development comes shortly after the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, summoned Qadir to his office to answer the same allegations.
The minister gave him 12 hours to appear and explain himself.
The case has since sparked public debate, with many awaiting the official position of both the ministry and the police as investigations continue.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and allow due process of the law to take its course.
