The Uganda premier league (UPL) action continued on Saturday, 18th October 2014 after the Friday drama that was at Mityana, Ssaza grounds when the game between SC Villa and Express FC was ended prematurely after it turned chaotic. Unlike Friday, all games on Saturday ended in draws.
At the Bombo Military stadium, it was a dramatic 2-2 draw between Simba FC and the 10-man Uganda Revenue Authority (URA F.C). Despite a goalless first half, Simba FC took an early second half lead through Isaac Kisuju Onyango after 10minutes into the game. Left winger, Elukana Nkugwa brought URA back into the game with a brilliant strike. A 90th minute penalty score from Frank Kalanda gave Alex Isabirye hope of making his first win in the UPL since his return to the club but this was shot lived when Simba’s Alex Witaba leveled in added time to close a dramatic 2-2 draw.
At Lugogo Stadium, it was a big battle between Bright Stars and Police FC in a bid to end each other’s unbeaten run. However this did not come to pass as the game ended in a one-all draw. League top scorer, Umar Kasumba of Police FC rose again to the occasion to save his side with an equalizer after the hosts had taken an early lead through Martin Kivumbi in the 20th minute of the game. Kasumba extended his tally to 5 goals as Bright stars ended with ten men on the pitch following a red card to one of their players.
Elsewhere, Kefa Kisala with his Bul FC held Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) to a goalless draw during their away visit at the Namboole stadium.
