Lukas Podoloski says there were never any plans in the January transfer window to swap him for Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler.
Draxler has been an Arsene Wenger long-term target and reports suggest the Arsenal coach will make another attempt to sign him this summer.
“Every top player is of interest to Arsenal – and Draxler is certainly one of those. But I do not know what the [club bosses] are planning,” Podolski told Sky Sports News.
“I am in contact with Julian. He is a great guy. But we haven’t spoken about any transfer.
“I only know that a swap deal involving me and him was never a consideration.”
The Germany international has struggled to hold down a first team place this season at Arsenal after playing just 10 premiership games and scoring three goals.
