After the match that ended in a 0-0 draw between Uganda Cranes and the Amavubi stars of Rwanda on Saturday, Micho Sredjovic, the coach of Uganda cranes pointed out that his team lacked enough zeal and are to some extent still green and unskillful and thats why we failed to beat Rwanda.
Micho in one of the interviews said, “We had only three players including Okwi, Kayizzi and Walusimbi with experience but the rest were fresh talents which resulted into the performance that you saw today.”
However, as a skillful and experienced coach he thanked his team for withholding the long 90 minutes strongly without conceding a goal from the tricky Amavubi stars. He urged the team to have more morale and zeal when they are playing.
Micho further pointed out that the game has helped him classify areas that need buff up before CECAFA Kicks off. “The game was fair for us as the boys played what they could. It’s a good starting point for us because we have been able to identify the positives as well as the negatives that we should work upon before the CECAFA.”
Uganda Cranes are the defending champions in the CECAFA after hammering Kenya in a home game.
This year’s CECAFA tournament is slated for November 27th to December 12th in Kenya with all the group games to be played in Nairobi. Keep it Bigeye.Ug for the latest in CECAFA results.
