EatOut UG officially launched in Kampala last week, with an incredible 2 for 1 offer across 25 pizza restaurants across the city, as they kicked off the 1st Annual Kampala Pizza Festival in partnership with Club Twist and Smart Telecom from October 3rd to 9th 2016.
EatOut also launched the first printed edition of Yummy Magazine, Kampala’s first food and lifestyle magazine.
Speaking at the Media launch held at Gatto Matto Bugolobi, General Manager, Iliana Bjorling explained that she was excited about Kampala. “We see an explosion in food culture taking place over the next few years. Whether it’s fine dining, pizzas, burgers, sushi, cheap & cheerful or exclusive – Kampala has it all, plus the many local delicacies! EatOut’s mission is to create incredible food culture in Kampala. We’re grateful to Club Twist and Smart Telecom who share our vision.”
She added, “We hope you go out and try out new restaurants and obviously some of your favourites. Let us know what was good and what could be improved so that we achieve our mission of incredible food culture. We want to collaborate with chefs, writers, bloggers so please reach out.”
Kampala is EatOut’s first office outside of Kenya, although the company operates remotely in several cities across the region. Earlier this year EatOut announced acquisitions of local Ugandan start-ups Done Deal and The Pearl Guide Magazine – who organise the popular Cocktail & Restaurant Weeks in Kampala.
In order to participate in Kampala Pizza Festival, one has to download a Free Pizza Passport, which can be printed or simply presented on a mobile device to your waiter, to access 2-for-1 pizza offers at the participating restaurant outlets. All restaurants are listed at www.kampalapizzafestival.ug and in Yummy Magazine, Kampala’s first FREE distribution food lifestyle magazine.
