Pia Pounds has fired back at entertainment commentator Eddie Sendi following his remark labeling her as a “bad singer.”
The comments were made after her performance at Sheebah Karungi’s concert on October 4, 2024, at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Sendi, while speaking on the “Talk and Talk Show” hosted on Kasuku Live’s YouTube channel, was blunt in his critique.
As a member of the event planning team, he didn’t hold back in his assessment: “Pia Pounds, you are a terrible singer,” he said. Sendi also pointed out that Pia should focus more on improving her musical craft, rather than just her appearance, stating, “You put a lot of money into your looks… Please also invest in the craft.”

In response, Pia Pounds took to X (formerly Twitter) to address Sendi’s critique. “Mzee Sendi, your comment that ‘Nyimba bubi’ really hurt me, but I’ll take it as constructive criticism and work on improving myself as an artist,” she wrote.
While acknowledging the sting of the comment, Pia offered a measured response, explaining that many factors could affect a stage performance beyond talent alone.
“It’s important to note that there are many reasons as to why an artist could sound bad on stage besides being untalented,” she added.
