Pia Pounds has opened up about her decision to quit drinking alcohol, shedding light on the misconceptions she once had about the music industry and how they shaped her early career.

In a reflection, Pia revealed that she initially believed substance use was part and parcel of being a successful artist.
“In my early music days, I thought every star gets intoxicated with something to get a vibe,” she said. However, her perspective changed when she joined Big Talent, the music label headed by renowned artist Eddy Kenzo.
“When I walked into Big Talent, I thought all musicians take weed, they be there drunk all the time because that’s the picture,” Pia recounted.
“But Eddy doesn’t drink—not even a Red Bull. He doesn’t. So I used to look at Eddy, like, if he can’t drink and he has all this fame and control, then what about me?”
That moment of clarity became a turning point for Pia, inspiring her to quit drinking and focus on her artistry with a clear mind.
Though her time at Big Talent Management was short-lived, Pia says the experience was instrumental in her growth.
She left the label amid backlash from fans of Rema Namakula, who accused her of being the reason behind Rema’s split with Eddy Kenzo—allegations Pia has always denied.
