Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) in conjunction with Emmanuel Ikubese Films and partners premiered their long-awaited pan African series “Kyaddala: It’s Real” in an exclusive black carpet event held at Kingdom Kampala on Friday evening.

The evening kicked off with a cocktail where revelers were serenaded by the soulful Kenneth Mugabi and Steve Keys, before later being ushered to the screening room to watch the first episode of the TV series.

The exclusive premiere attracted key players in the film industry from Uganda and beyond ranging from movie directors, producers, actors and actresses beyond the cast of Kyaddala.

Based on real life experiences, Kyaddala depicts young people’s sexual and reproductive health issues through a rich storyline with compelling themes like HIV and its impact on young people, Teenage pregnancy and the role of “gatekeepers/ stakeholders” in averting child marriages, Sexual and gender based violence among young people and how it affects their SRHR needs and Myths and misconceptions around young people’s SRHR and how to create an enabling and safe environment for young people to seek SRHR information and services.

“Kyaddala is a real conversation starter, tackling topics that people are afraid to have. This show will provoke important conversations on young people’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Challenges,” noted Humphrey Nabimanya, the Founder and Team Leader, Reach A Hand Uganda.

Featuring stars like Martha Kay, Salvado Idringi, Mathew Nabwiso, Anita Fabiola, Emmanuel Ikubese and Olumide Oworu (from Nigeria), the 8-part series will officially start airing on October 5th on NBS Television and on the official Kyaddala YouTube page and Sauti Plus TV.

Here are some photos from the premiere.
