All roads led to Lugogo Cricket Oval on Saturday evening for the much anticipated Fireboy DML concert.
Fans who flocked Cricket Oval were not disappointed as the Nigerian star staged a riveting performance that lasted for over one hour as he belted out the crowds’ favorite songs, one after the other.
Zex Bilangilangi opened the performances for the evening, before paving way for rapper Fik Famica. Other performers of the evening included Navio who gave revelers a dose of hip-hop and Sheebah Karungi who delighted the crowd with a sultry performance.
In between the musical performances, several DJs including Spinny, Slick Stuart & Roja, and Masaka’s own DJ Suuna Ben kept the crowds on their feet.
Fireboy finally stepped on stage shortly after 10pm amid loud chants from the frenzied crowd. He had the crowd singing and dancing along through out his showcase as he performed crowd favorites like ‘Vibration’, ‘Champion’, ‘Need You’, ‘Jealous’, ‘Like I do’ among others. He ended his performance on a high with his famous song ‘Peru’ which drove the crowd wild. Like a possessed crowd, they let out wild screams and ululations, trying to sing along.
“Uganda thank you for welcoming me,” he shouted in between his performances an act that increased the excitement and got revellers engaged with the star throughout the show.
Revellers where also given a taste of the Guinness Bright House experience which included an engagement in Guinness flavour rooms that saw revellers explore the Guinness liquid.
