PHOTOS: Victoria University rewards Miss Curvy participants with free tuition

The University is awarding the overall winner of Miss Curvy with 100% scholarship on tuition of any Degree, Diploma or Masters in addition to a free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation.

Victoria University has awarded Miss Curvy Uganda with Full Scholarship on tuition.

This offer has been made for the overall winner and 70% scholarships on tuition for the remaining 24 contestants for our Masters, Bachelors, Diploma and Foundation programs and a free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation for all contestants.

According to the university, they appreciate Miss Curvy for organizing this event to appreciate the participants and plus size females and they partnering with Miss Curvy for purposes of enhancing career growth and positive life enrichment of the Miss Curvy contestants.

The University is awarding the overall winner of the Miss Curvy with 100% scholarship on tuition of any Degree, Diploma or Masters in addition to a  free short course in  Public Speaking and Presentation.  The remaining 24 contestants will be awarded a 70% scholarship on tuition in addition toa free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation.

Assoc. Prof. Krishna N. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University said that “Our aim in partnering is to impart and provide knowledge to the contestants through the scholarships; this will result in career growth. He also said he appreciates the contestants’ leadership skills as they have come to this level after fighting many challenges including but not limited to bullying, body shaming, etc.”

The Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University further added that, “We are giving them free short courses in Public Speaking and Presentation so that they may effectively transfer their leadership skills, implant the message of having pride in who they are, inspire and motivate others who may be facing similar challenges what they have faced in the past.”

The key objective of the scholarship is to extend their international standard of education, to promote equality in communities by supporting talented students to acquire the necessary academic qualifications, to promote entrepreneurship and skills in Africa that will help address the skills gap as well as the challenges of human capital development.

CEO of Miss Curvy Uganda Ms. Annie Mungoma summed up and said that she appreciates that institutions such as  Victoria University have come out with a cause of ensuring that the contestants are skilled and acquire knowledge through the scholarships which they can take up in the desired degree of their choice. This will have a direct impact and will enhance their career growth and have something to hope for in the future.”

Victoria University is a  premium University accredited by the National Council of Higher Education and Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Council. MultiChoice Uganda premieres two short films

Multi choice Uganda last week on Friday premiered two short films.  The two films, “Promise” and “Ensulo” were premiered at the multi choice head offices in Kololo. Each of the one hour films were created in Kenya and will be showing on DSTV, Pearl Magic channel 161.

According to Joan Semanda, PR and communications MultiChoice said the premier of the two short films were in line with both DSTV and GO TV showing support for the Uganda film industry. “WE also encourage young students with passion in film making as either film directors or actors to pursue career as we are here to support them.”

Comedian Reign too close with upcoming singer Vilani

It looks like there’s something cooking between talented comedian Reign- of the Maulana and Reign duo and upcoming female singer Vilani.

Word reaching our desk indicates the two, Reign and Vilani, have been inseperable the last few weeks.

We hear the two spend most of their time together. However it’s unclear what their business could be. Unconfirmed reports reveal the two could be an item. However another source says the two have a business deal they have been working on together.We wonder what deal it could be considering they are in different entertainment fields. Ever since she joined the industry, new star Vilani, better known as ‘The Sweet Malaika gal’ has always made a fashion statement which has attracted men.With her sweet melodious and tempting voice, Vilani proved by her song, Sweet Malaika, that she has all it takes to have men dying for a piece of her. Reign could be one of them.

What You Missed At the DJ Ciza House & Barbecue Party

Last Saturday, one of Kampala’s finest DJS, DJ Ciza hosted his famous house party that attracted a section of Kampala party animals. The DJ Ciza house Party took place at an exclusive crib along Kyambogo Road Ntinda.

Also called the real crowd pleaza, Ciza hosted his fans, artistes and fellow DJs to an all you can eat party where guests eat until they could eat no more.

He was also supported by fellow DJs like Naselow, DJ Nyowe, Selector Jay, DJ LL and artistes like Cosign, Mugaba and JWats among others.

The party started at around 6pm and went on till 3am.

DJ Ciza is a versatile DJ that has marked his place in the industry. He has played at both small and big stages. He currently plays at Radiocity and hosts weekly nights including but not limited to Jamrock Thursday’s at Valhalla, vibe up Friday’s at H20 Kololo among others.
