PHOTOS: Victoria University rewards Miss Curvy participants with free tuition

The University is awarding the overall winner of Miss Curvy with 100% scholarship on tuition of any Degree, Diploma or Masters in addition to a free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation.

Victoria University has awarded Miss Curvy Uganda with Full Scholarship on tuition.

This offer has been made for the overall winner and 70% scholarships on tuition for the remaining 24 contestants for our Masters, Bachelors, Diploma and Foundation programs and a free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation for all contestants.

According to the university, they appreciate Miss Curvy for organizing this event to appreciate the participants and plus size females and they partnering with Miss Curvy for purposes of enhancing career growth and positive life enrichment of the Miss Curvy contestants.

The University is awarding the overall winner of the Miss Curvy with 100% scholarship on tuition of any Degree, Diploma or Masters in addition to a  free short course in  Public Speaking and Presentation.  The remaining 24 contestants will be awarded a 70% scholarship on tuition in addition toa free short course in Public Speaking and Presentation.

Assoc. Prof. Krishna N. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University said that “Our aim in partnering is to impart and provide knowledge to the contestants through the scholarships; this will result in career growth. He also said he appreciates the contestants’ leadership skills as they have come to this level after fighting many challenges including but not limited to bullying, body shaming, etc.”

The Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University further added that, “We are giving them free short courses in Public Speaking and Presentation so that they may effectively transfer their leadership skills, implant the message of having pride in who they are, inspire and motivate others who may be facing similar challenges what they have faced in the past.”

The key objective of the scholarship is to extend their international standard of education, to promote equality in communities by supporting talented students to acquire the necessary academic qualifications, to promote entrepreneurship and skills in Africa that will help address the skills gap as well as the challenges of human capital development.

CEO of Miss Curvy Uganda Ms. Annie Mungoma summed up and said that she appreciates that institutions such as  Victoria University have come out with a cause of ensuring that the contestants are skilled and acquire knowledge through the scholarships which they can take up in the desired degree of their choice. This will have a direct impact and will enhance their career growth and have something to hope for in the future.”

Victoria University is a  premium University accredited by the National Council of Higher Education and Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Council. Katsha to offer free education to underprivileged children

Education is the key to success, they say. Considering the importance of education in development of society at large, socialite Shafique Katumba alias Katsha De’bank has pledged to offer free education to underprivileged children. Through his charity organisation, The Katsha Foundation, he hopes to change the lives of many Ugandans by playing a role in education development of the vulnerable segment of the society.

According to Katsha, the foundation is actively engaged in a number of charitable projects but the area of education is closer to his heart. He has a dream to see that every child is in school and plans to establish a boarding school where children from down trodden class of the society will be admitted and they will be provided with good education. Those admitted children will not only be educated at the school level but they will be financed and properly looked after till their graduation from the higher education institutes in order to make them a valuable resource for this society.

“We at the Katsha Foundation firmly believe in our motto which clearly stipulates that ‘Educate a Child and Develop a Future Family,'” Katsha noted.

Kampala night life lovers had an extra option last night at he Evoke Night. The crowd which mainly was composed of young people was entertained by Evoke Band who had the first act of the night. The night was histed by Mama KLA.

The night was fun filled with Art, Music, Fashion and Games that had the young crowd thrilled. DJ Ssese was on the decks with some of the latest grooving music. The event took place in Kampala at the Square in industrial area. The night was sponsored by Club beer.
