The Uganda Airlines has today Friday 16th October 2020 announced the final preparations of landing its Airbus A330-800.
Through its social media, the Uganda Airlines confirmed completion of the painting and beautifying stage of the Airbus.
It also shared pictures of the newly manufactured Ugandan flight beast out of the paint-shop.
“Great news! Our new Airbus A330-800 is out of the paintshop. Getting ready to join our fleet. Let the countdown begin…,” Uganda Airlines wrote.
Here are some of the newly manufactured Uganda Airbus;
The highly anticipated Airbus is part of the 2018 government’s mega plan of revamping the Uganda Airlines.
The first two of the four Bombardier CRJ900 planes that were ordered, touched down at Entebbe International Airport for the first time on 23rd April 2019.
These had set-off from the Bombardier production and engineering site in Montréal, Canada.
The ceremony welcoming the two Ugandan planes was presided over by President Yoweri Museveni and government officials from the Ministry of Works and Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority.
Upon arrival, the two planes received a ceremonial water salute, a touching airport tradition to honour a new airline service.
The remaining planes’ arrival had earlier been planned for June this year but unfortunately the preps were halted by the COVID-19 Pandemic global outbreak.
Apparently, the two planes are expected to arrive in a closer time compared to the newly manufactured Airbus.
