Lupita Nyong’o’s return to Kenya since winning her Oscars was not as expected. Instead of having crowds of traditional singers receive her at the airport with twigs, flowers and mursik, the Hollywood actress made her arrival as private as possible.
She was in the country for the wedding of her younger sister Esperanza. The ceremony was held at the Great Rift Valley Lodge, with Esperanza saying I do to an IT guy from Tanzania called Dadi Masesa.
The exclusive ceremony had about 300 guests, among them former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.
