Uganda finally broke the 39-year jinx in the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday evening. The Cranes defeated Comoros 1-0 in their final Group D game in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers to secure a slot at Africa’s biggest football tournament in Gabon next year.
The game was played in front of a full packed Mandela National Stadium that broke out into thunderous cheers after the final whistle. Among these was the First Lady Janet Museveni who was spotted jubilating with the rest of the fans at Namboole. Check out photos of her below.
