The Club DJ Awards championship finally came to a close on Sunday with the final showdown held at Lido Beach in Entebbe. This came after regional competitions that saw top local deejays crowned in Mbarara and Mbale respectively.
The finale attracted 17 deejays including DJ Cathy from Pipper INC 256 Kampala, the only female disc jockey to feature in the 2017 edition of the championship. She, however, could not match the skills of her male counterparts and was eliminated after the first round.
It was Entebbe-based DJ Isaac who was crowned winner, walking away with a 2 Million cash prize and DJ of the year accolade. He saw off stiff competition from DJ Shakil who was seemingly the crowd’s favorite.
The finale was graced by several renowned deejays including DJ Nimrod, DJ Shark, and DJ Shiru among others.
