The Mixtape party hosted by DJ Roja and DJ Slick Stuart at Laftaz lounge pool side on Saturday evening was a huge success. Revelers started filtering into the venue as early as 6pm and by mid-night the place was jam-packed with the crowd visibly having a great time as they danced away and sipped on their drinks.
To set the mood for the men of the hour, several other deejays including Galaxy FM’s DJ Nimrod, Sanyu FM’s DJ Crisio among others hit the turntables. They warmed up the evening with a selection of hits across different genres — from R’n’B to dance-hall to hip-hop, name it.
When DJ Roja and DJ Slick Stuart finally stepped on the turntables around 12am to showcase their artistry, the crowd was already in a partying mood. They stepped up the tempo as revelers went wild. The crowd could be heard ululating along the popular hits as the duo did their magic on the turntables.
The evening was not short on entertainment. There was a plethora of emcees who brought on stage the much needed energy, firing up the crowd. These included; Mc Kats, Daggy Nyce, Mr Mosh among others who took turns on the microphone. There were also cameo performances from several artistes like A Pass, Maddoxx, Maro, among others.
To borrow the words of Maya Angelou, “people may forget the Mixtape Party, but people will never forget how Roja and Slick Stuart made them feel.” It was a memorable evening, indeed!
