Singer Daxx Kartel Omuryeerubah, who was arrested in Congo yesterday for allegedly possessing forged travel documents has been freed. The musician was very happy after getting out of his cell and he took to social media to let all his fans know that he is free. “I am freeeeeeeeeeeee at last,” he said.
According to reports, the Luga-Latino/Afro pop singer was arrested on the Uganda – Congo border with fake travel documents as he was going for a show with some of his crew. His car keys were confiscated as he was arrested but were later returned upon his release. Other sources allege that the singer who has been head over heels for fellow musician Irene Ntale, was found with fake Jewelry among other things.
In the recent past, Ugandan musicians have been arrested in unclear circumstances with some being accused of drug trafficking crime among others. Iryn Namubiru and Kid Fox have suffered at the hand of foreigners in similar conditions.
