Musician Jose Chameleone pulled out all the stops to make his “Legend: Hit after Hit” concert a memorable one for scores of revelers that turned up at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday evening.
The “Wale Wale” star staged a performance that lasted for close to two hours, going on past midnight (the legal stopping time for concerts held with in the city) so revelers could have their money’s worth.
Chameleone stepped on the darkened stage a few minutes past 11pm; emerging from a smoke screen amid loud chants and ululations from the crowd that had been eagerly waiting for his performance. Dressed in the iconic Iron Man suit, the singer opened his act with a performance of his single “Nga bwewakolanga“.
Backed by Solid Band, he went on to take revelers on his music journey as he switched between his hits from the early 2000’s and his most recent hit songs including songs like “Kuma Obwesigwa”, “Bomboclat”, “Kuba Bulungi”, “Nekolera Mali”, “Basiima Ogenze”, and “Agatako” among others.
His act was preceded by performances from fellow artistes like Aziz Azion, Gravity Omutujju, Pallaso, Afrigo Band, King Michael, Ziza Bafana, Vampino, and Radio & Weasel.
The concert was well attended with several prominent figures in the audience including Kyadondo East MP-elect Bobi Wine and Makindye West MP Allan Sewanyana.
