Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo was the place to be on Sunday as Roast and Rhyme returned for its 12th edition.
The picnic style event which was themed “Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam” was not short on fun and entertainment. Revelers who thronged the event were treated to live acoustic music as they feasted on their nyama choma.
The highlight of the event came with performances from A Pass and John Blaq. A Pass who stepped on stage around 7pm wowed revelers with a theatrical performance of his popular songs like “Guli Wano”, “Gamululu”, “Chupa ku Chupa” and “Tuli Kubigere” among others.
He later paved way for the sensational John Blaq who entertained revelers with a medley of his hit songs including “Tukwatagane”, Do Dat”, “Romantic” and “Obubadi” among others, much to the excitement of the crowd who at this point were on their feet dancing and cheering on with every song.
There was also surprise performance by Emperor Orlando, who delighted the crowd his old time hit songs, “Nakonkona” and “Silikawo Baby”.
Organized by Swangz Avenue and sponsored by Bell Lager, Roast and Rhyme is an out-door family event that happens quarterly.
