PhatFest is back, bigger and better!
The annual gospel event, which took a break in 2015 to re-organise and rethink the whole platform, has returned with a new twist. Hosted by Uganda’s leading Urban Christian radio station, Power FM, Phatfest has upgraded from just a concert to an all-day festival.
“The Phatfest 2016 is different. It has always been a concert starting at about 7pm to midnight, but this time round it’s a festival and will be an all-day event with gates opening at around 1pm,” Peter Kakuru, the Managing Director at Power FM noted.
The event has been restructured to offer a fun-filled experience for the entire family with great music, food, fun and games which will be crowned with an unforgettable concert. This year’s edition will feature artistes from across the continent such as Majic Mike and Kris Eroh from Kenya, Tio Nason and Sobre from Zambia, alongside a host of top Ugandan gospel musicians.
“You should expect to use all your energy because you are going to dance, play, have fun and enjoy performances from several artistes,” Kakuru added.
Dubbed “Version 2.0”, it will be held under the theme based on the scripture from 2 Corinthians 5:16 which aptly reads in part, “…the old has gone, the new is here!”
PhatFest will take place this Saturday, 10th December at Makerere sports grounds. Tickets are on sale at 10K( kids below 13), 20K(ordinary) and 50K(VIP).
