Comedian Patrick Salvado has received backlash over his remarks regarding the battle between Comedy Store UG and URA.

Salvado who cited unfair taxation by URA towards Alex Muhangi’s Comedy Store called for lenience and reconsideration for local investors.

This communication hasn’t gone down well for the online audience with many calling him out for being selfish — as many alluded to the fact paying taxes are everyone’s responsibility without exemptions.

“There are only two certainties in life: death and taxes. Pay your taxes man. Why should comedians be exempted from taxes?” quoted @HerAcholiness on Twitter/X

Salvado who came in support of Alex Muhangi yearned for collective efforts by the entertainment industry to raise a voice towards government and URA and have some tax havens as through this industry, they employ thousands of people.

Salvado has on numerous occasions pronounced his love for President Museveni and these critics have referred him to use his connections and get his matter resolved.
