Alex Isabirye is back as URA coach after the tax collectors on Monday confirmed the sacking of Paul Nkata just weeks after he led the club to their second Uganda Cup in three years.

He has signed a two-year contract.

A statement in part from the club reads “URA F.C board meeting sitting today 16th June 2014 has terminated the services of Head Coach Nkata Paul and long serving Team Doctor Jack Walugembe”.

Nkata ironically replaced the then sacked Isabirye in April 2013. Although he led URA to the Uganda Cup after beating league winners KCC on penalties, Nkata’s dismal performance with the club in the Mapindunzi Cup in Zanzibar, Cecafa Club Championship in Sudan and the league has been under review.

The statement continues in saying “The Club greatly appreciates the contribution of coach Nkata for the period he has been part of our set-up.

“He will forever be appreciated for delivering us the Uganda Cup success in 2014.”

Doctor Walugembe’s contract expired and the club chose not to renew it.
