Popular Ugandan comedian and brand influencer Patrick Idringi Salvado has spoken out about the current state of the comedy industry, saying that comedians themselves are responsible for its decline.

“To be sincere enough, comedy collapsed. We comedians are responsible for its downfall. We are disunited, and we have no umbrella that unites us,” Salvado said.
Salvado, known for his bold opinions and contributions to comedy in Uganda, expressed concern over the lack of unity among comedians.

He believes the absence of a central body to guide and support comedians has weakened the industry.
Over the years, comedy in Uganda has faced several challenges, including poor organization, lack of consistent platforms, and limited support for upcoming talent.
Many fans have also noticed a drop in the quality of performances and events.

Salvado’s comments have sparked debate among entertainers and fans, with many agreeing that change is needed to rebuild the industry.
Some have called for the formation of a national comedians’ association to promote cooperation and professionalism.
As one of Uganda’s top comedy figures, Salvado’s remarks highlight a deeper issue that many insiders believe must be addressed to revive the comedy scene in the country.
