In a harrowing incident that unfolded last night, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, the prominent figure behind the House of Prayer Ministries and owner of Salt Media, narrowly escaped a fatal attack.
Details emerged, indicating that Bugingo’s quick thinking may have saved his life. According to reports from BBS Terefayina, Bugingo, upon hearing the initial gunshot, promptly engaged the handbrake and sought refuge under the steering wheel, avoiding the assailants’ aim.
Tragically, the assailants continued their attack, mistakenly targeting the passenger seat, where Bugingo’s assistant and bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, was seated.
The relentless gunfire led to Richard succumbing to his injuries. Salt TV presenter Mutebi, recounting the incident as told by Bugingo, highlighted Bugingo’s attempt to confront the assailants after the gunfire ceased.
Failing to apprehend them, Bugingo made a swift decision to drive to Mulago hospital from Namungoona to seek medical attention for both himself and the fallen Muhumuza Richard.
In a subsequent public statement, Pastor Bugingo reassured the community of his well-being and expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal with minimal injuries.
Meanwhile, preparations for the burial of Muhumuza Richard are underway and scheduled for Friday while police investigations continue.
