Musician and business man Daniel Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee has decided to become the next Kampala Mayor under the NRM ticket. The singer who is loved by many is not alone, fellow musicians have joined him to rally Kampala residents behind him.
At an event held last Monday at Kataka in Kibuye where Dee was introducing his intentions to stand for mayor to the locals, musicians were also at hand to show their support.
Pallaso, Ziza Bafana, Buchaman and Papa Cidy entertained fans with their music. They also asked the crowds to support the right man for the job when the time for the NRM primaries comes this month. They also asked the crowds to continue supporting him even next year as he stands for mayor.
“Ragga Dee is a good man. He has shown us that he can become a good leader through music and for that reason he deserves all the votes,” Ziza said.
When his time to speak came, Ragga Dee reminded his people that he was born in Kampala, grew up in the city and now is the time for him to make a mega contribution by becoming mayor and changing things. “I don’t just talk but I make things happen,” he said.
Raggae Dee joins the long list of Ugandan artistes who are vying for Political posts come 2016. These include Judith Babirye (District Woman MP through NRM), Eddie Yawe (Kira Municipality through DP), Kato Lubwama (Lubaga), Geoffrey Lutaya (Kakuto County) and Patrick Idringi Salvador (Nakawa) among others.
