Singer Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso has finally opened up on why he was banned from the United States of America.

Appearing in a local TV interview, Pallaso refuted rumors claiming that he was deported from the US because of a bad criminal record.

The ‘Malamu’ hitmaker rather says he personally made the decision to come back home in Uganda after landing a mega hit song ‘Amaaso’ featuring Radio & Weasel.

“First of all, to clear the air, I have never been deported from the United States of America. I had recorded a song called ‘Amaaso’ and I felt like coming back to Uganda. I made that decision together with my family,” Pallaso said.

However, Pallaso revealed that his over stay in Uganda breached the terms of his Visa, hence the USA government penalized him with a 10 year ban.

“But upon reaching here, I overstayed the period that had been granted to me by the USA government. So I was then banned from flying to America for 10 years,” he added.

Pallaso resurfaced in Uganda in 2014 after almost 10 years living in USA. During his sojourn, the self-proclaimed ‘King of the East’ dated an American woman, Nicole Hayma and they have a girl child together.

We will keep you posted.
