Carly Rae Jepsen confirms her new album

Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen have lost a copyright infringement court case.

The duo’s 2012 hit ‘Good Time’ was at the centre of a lawsuit from Ally Burnett, who claimed it sounded remarkably similar to her own song ‘Ah, It’s A Love Song’.

A judge ruled that the similarities are notable and ordered the song’s royalties company BMI to pay more than $800,000 in damages, reports TMZ.

Burnett recorded ‘Ah, It’s A Love Song’ in 2010, two years before Owl City and Rae Jepsen’s collaboration became a global hit.

Rae Jepsen was previously targeted with a copyright infringement lawsuit for her mega hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Ukrainian singer Aza.

The European star claimed ‘Call Me Maybe’ was similar to her track ‘Hunky Santa’, but the lawsuit has since been dropped.
