Over UGX 254 million worth of prizes so far given away in Laga Swagga promotion

Prizes worth UGX 254 million have so far been received by customers who have participated in the Laga Swagga promotion which seeks to reward customers upon purchase of Uganda Waragi, V&A, Bond 7 and Gilbeys. The promotion has also attracted over 360,000 customers within just seven weeks.

The promotion has sparked nationwide excitement, with winners emerging from Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, Hoima, Fort Portal, and Arua.

Hillary Baguma, the Brand Manager – Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries, expressed pride in the positive response to the promotion from the consumers since launch.

“We are thrilled with the level of engagement Laga Swagga has generated so far. It’s heartwarming to see our customers happily enjoying the rewards, and we encourage everyone to keep participating because we still have 5 weeks to go and there are still plenty of prizes to be won, including the grand prize of UGX 50 million.”

To participate, consumers who purchase Uganda Waragi Premium, Coconut, Lemon and Ginger, Bond 7, Gilbeys, or V&A can enter the promotion by submitting a special code found under the bottle cap via SMS to 6688.

Each entry qualifies for instant cash prizes and a chance to participate in the weekly draw for larger winnings. The draws air every Thursday evening on NBS, NTV, Bukedde TV, and Galaxy TV.

Baguma encouraged consumers to continue to participate with in the remaining 5 weeks and emphasized that the promotion is only for those above 18 years of age, recommending that consumers drink responsibly.

One of the Laga Swagga latest winners, Shafiq Kyewalabye, motorcyclist (Boda Boda rider) from Nansana, was overjoyed to receive UGX 500,000 and added that at first, he did not believe it until he got his money.

“At first, I didn’t believe it when I got the call, but it was real! I got my money that why I confirm and encourage everyone to participate. You could be the next winner, just like me. Thank you, UBL, for my money.”

To date, the Laga Swagga promotion has distributed UGX 230 million in airtime and UGX 24.5 million in weekly cash prizes.

The Laga Swagga promotion continues for more 5 weeks, offering customers across Uganda more chances to win cash, airtime, and other exciting prizes as they enjoy their favorite UBL spirits brands.
