American Hustle – A great watch and hilarious, Jennifer Lawrence was at her best.
Captain Phillips – A certain depiction of hostage drama by Somalian Pirates. Tom Hanks owns it and terrific acting in the last scene of this movie.
Dallas Buyers Club – Critically good, based on fragments of true story. Appears more as a documentary than as a movie.
Gravity – 3D. And a new story line which no one would have thought off.
Her – Funny and sarcastic about how human dependency is increasing on virtual and computer adaptive environment. Particularly, you will fall for the voice of Operating System which is donned by Scarlett Johansson.
Nebraska – A Comedy Drama which only can be understood by those who understand somewhat American Humor. A good watch and exceptional acting by Bruce Dern.
Philomena – Based on a true story about a search. A long search. Emotional and comic at the same time. I am fond of British accent and so this movie as well.
12 Years a Slave – Based on a true story and at places where it is intense and highly emotional. Surprisingly, this movie has our own Sherlock (Cumberbatch) and Pitt (Both as actor and producer). Great movies are those where you remember the character name not the actors. And you won’t forget Solomon Northup for a long time.
The Wolf of Wall Street – Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, I am least capable of judging this, though overuse of ‘F’ word. Just for this time, please give DiCaprio an Oscar.
