Onfarm milk, a franchise of Wagaba mixed farm is on a campaign of giving back to the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramathan.
The fifth pillar of Islam is Zakah, which is means giving a specified percentage of ones wealth to certain classes of needy people. In addition the individual may give as much as he/she pleases in voluntary charity.
With this pillar, onfarm on Saturday kicked off a mass campaign of breaking fast for people in Bunga and Kibuli, donating several litres of their milk to the needy.
The onfarm team led by Imad Den Muzingu, first visited Masjeed Rahmaan Konge where they distributed 250 litres of milk to the hundreds of Muslims before they did the same at Kibuli mosque, handing out 300 litres.
Speaking about this gesture, Imad Muzingu said they are fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam.
“Because we are in the Holy month of Ramathan, a month of giving, a month of mercy, we have decided to give back to the community for the support they have been giving us ever since we entered the market.
This is our way of spreading joy and sharing the blessings of Ramathan with everyone,” he said.
Muzingu also added that Konge and Kibuli are not going to be the only recipients of this good deed as they are still reaching out to other communities around Kampala.
Onfarm milk can be accessed in all supermarkets, supermarkets, hotels and retail shops around the country at cheaper prices.
