Omulangira Suuna has addressed the controversy surrounding his recent visit to Gulu, following remarks by General Salim Saleh about musicians crowding the city and disrupting his activities.
Suuna clarified that his trip was not music-related but centered on issues aligned with Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
Speaking on the matter, Suuna emphasized that he traveled to Gulu as a Ugandan citizen with ideas to share, rather than as a musician seeking favors.
He revealed his intention to secure support for personal projects under the OWC initiative, stressing that his visit had no connection to his music career.
“General Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, has offices in Kamwokya, but it is often difficult to meet him there. That’s why many people, including myself, choose to travel to Gulu,” Suuna explained.
He added that several individuals who have made similar trips have successfully received assistance for their projects.
Addressing General Saleh’s suggestion that musicians approach Eddy Kenzo, the president of the Uganda Musicians Federation, Suuna made it clear that Kenzo’s role does not align with Operation Wealth Creation. “My ideas are specific to OWC and can only be supported by General Saleh,” he said.
Suuna also expressed disappointment over Full Figure’s controversial remarks, where she referred to individuals seeking help in Gulu as “dead bodies.”
He called the comments unnecessary and inappropriate, highlighting that even Full Figure and several TikTokers had recently visited Gulu and received funding for their projects.
“Why would Full Figure oppose others seeking similar assistance, especially when every Ugandan has the right to present their ideas to government leaders?” Suuna questioned.
