Ugandan urban music rising star OmaNi ReigN is gearing up to release her latest body of work — a 5-track EP titled Kanakawala, set to drop on June 20, 2025.
The project is currently available for pre-save, building anticipation among fans both in Uganda and beyond.
This new EP marks a major milestone for OmaNi, who has steadily risen through the ranks of Uganda’s vibrant music scene. Known for blending traditional Ugandan rhythms with modern urban beats, her sound is a fresh fusion that continues to resonate with a growing fanbase.
From ZAGANG to ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT
OmaNi ReigN’s journey began in 2019 when she joined the urban music collective ZAGANG, which later evolved into the influential movement now known as ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT. She made her official debut during the pandemic with her first EP, RAPID-19 (2020), a project that introduced her unique sound and lyrical versatility.
Since then, she has released several singles and notable collaborations that have earned her a spot among Uganda’s most promising female acts. Some of her most popular tracks include:
- “NALUMANSI” – her breakout single that continues to dominate local playlists
- “NYONYI NYANGE” – a fan-favorite collaboration with KEZI LEO, D$L, and TIMOTHY DYLAN
- “CIRCLES” – a well-received remix with Expect Xhavi
