By Our Reporter

Kampala‘s biggest restaurant showcase, the Kampala Restaurant Week, ended in style as a memorable 10-day food experience concluded with a lavish dinner to crown the best participating restaurants.

The annual event had enlisted more than 40 restaurants, including some from Jinja and Mbarara, and treated hundreds of Uganda’s food enthusiasts to a variety of dishes at the best restaurants. Monday, however, would be the day to recognize the restaurants that made the biggest impression on foodies in an award ceremony at Kurb Kisementi.

The winners on the evening were; Kaveli restaurant in the category of Outstanding Service award, Olives restaurant were the big winners of the night going away with both the Innovation award and the Top casual dining award, better known among the Kampala Restaurant Week enthusiasts as the ‘best dish of the week’ award, while the Top Signature Dining award went to La Cabana restaurant.

The event, celebrating its fourth edition this year, was organised by Pearl Guide in partnership with Tusker Lite. It kicked off on August 1 and ran until August 11 and featured Chobe Safari Lodge as a holiday partner.

The Kampala Restaurant Week winners were selected by members of the public and a body of judges.
