Nyege Nyege Festival was started the year that Sauti za Busara did not happen, and today the two festivals are joining hands in an effort to showcase East African friendship and integration and support a thriving East African music industry. Nyege Nyege has always been inspired by the Zanzibari festival which has showcased some of the most exciting acts on the continent for over ten years. Nyege Nyege will bring its legendary fire to co-host the official Sauti za Busara after party, bringing no less than 6 acts to the event on the 17th of February, including international star DJ Kampire fresh off her Australian debut along a line up of East African artists on the Nyege Nyege Roster including DJ Decay (Uganda), Makossiri (Kenya) and Turkana (South Sudan) and Nyege Nyege Tanzanian artists from Dar Es Salaam, Jay Mitta, Rehema Tajiri and more.
The organizers of Nyege Nyege will also be in attendance, scoping for exciting acts to bring to this year’s edition of Nyege Nyege. Dates have already been set, September 3-4-5-6 as we all await for more information on this year’s theme and line up.
