Last week the leadership of NUP agreed to front Hon. Latif Sebaggala for the post of Kampala Lotd Mayor. Hon Latif is the only member of parliament in kampala that has been endorsed by electorates for the longest time. He was first the youth chairman of Kisaasi Kikulu, then he was voted as the lc3 chairman in Kawempe North before he later contested and won the Member of parliament post in 2001.
In the meeting, the NUP decided to move chameleon to a constituency post and allow Latif Sebaggala to contest against the incumbent on the Lord Mayorship post.
Last week as picking of interest forms was coming to and end Hon. Latif Sebaggala had picked the Lord Mayorship forms from the party secretariat
