NTV

News reaching our desk is that Aga Khan is selling off Dembe FM and KFM that broadcast in Kampala on the 90.4 and 93.3 frequencies respectively. The Nation Media properties are up for sale by Aga Khan because he doesn’t find both ventures easy to run according to reports.

A source at one of the Radio stations revealed that the sale is real. It is against the backdrop that they are not making enough money. It is said that the two radio stations make a total of 170 million shillings every month which is way low compared to the money he puts in each month.

Dembe FM was bought by Aga Khan from tycoon Bitature. Aga Khan also owns Monitor Newspaper and NTV Uganda among other business. What is worrying is that he could also sell NTV Uganda given the infighting that has been going on at the Serena Hotel based station. The fights have led to low motivation of workers and poor results.

We will keep you posted.
