Barely a month since we got news that former NTV Uganda news boss, Maurice Mugisha was leaving to join UBC, another news anchor at the Kampala Serena based TV has also bid farewell to the media house.
Rachael Arinaitwe, last evening said her good byes after reading her last bulletin live on air. It was an emotional one, as she shed a few tears on receiving a farewell bouquet and warm hugs from NTV news producer Ms Linda Kibombo and NTV Digital Specialist, Ms Ayam Patra.
The calm, soft spoken and sophisticated anchor has been at NTV for 7 years and had nothing but kind words to say about the brand that has been home for all that time.
“Today, after a wonderful 7 years at what has become my second home, I do my final bulletin at this awesome media house. At the time I joined NTV, aside from being excited about being on TV, I had no idea how much my life would change, the random strangers that met me on the street and said hello, the “I think I have seen you somewhere stares”, the many doors and opportunities that have opened up for me, I could go on and on..point is I’m grateful for all of it and for each one of you who has sent a supportive text or appreciated what I do. Thank you! Mwebare!” she wrote
Just like most employees who left the station ,ended up at another broadcasting media house, She also hinted on following in their footsteps “Ps. This isn’t goodbye to TV, watch this space aka #ComingSoon” she added.
For now, we are not sure which media house she will be joining but we can’t wait to catch you on our TV screens again, Racheal. All the best!
