A few years ago, Wakaliwood produced their first Ugandan action packed movie that left very many Ugandans laughing their heads off. This movie dubbed “Who Killed Captain Alex” received tremendous thumbs up from the western world to an extent that some filmmakers from the US came to be part of this crazy world of art.
Since then, Wakaliwood under the stewardship of Nabwana Isaac has not looked back, releasing more and more such movies.
They have another action-packed movie dubbed “Ugandan Expendables”. A news anchor on NTV Kenya was forced to have seconds off his anchoring set as he broke into spasmodic laughter as a result of this movie trailer that featured in their news bulletin.
It is believed that the anchor was left laughing uncontrollably, not because he was amazed by the art of the movie, but because he found the film hilariously nonsensical.
Despite the infancy of our movie industry, however, there are other amazing projects that have positively marketed us at different international film festivals and awards such as House Arrest, Call 211, Wani, The Ugandan, among others.
